The main objective of the Workshop is to discuss the Manipuri Yumsharol a.k.a Constructional practices followed traditionally by the indigenous inhabitants of the Manipur state. The practices were followed since time immemorial for about 3000 years with clear depiction of various strategic locations for bedroom kitchen diety washroom etc. The practices were clearly written at the holy book YUMSHAROL PUYA which is an ancient text of the indigenous people of the State
. With the advancements of modern technology and vertical expansion of buildings the strict following of the certain rules written in the holy book posed a problem to the Civil Engineers Architects Masons constructional practitioners and all sections of the society. The Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board holds the authority towards the custody of the ancient books and practices of the constructional methods. It was therefore resolved during the 40.7 meeting of the State Centre Committee to hold One Day Workshop with an aim to bridge the gap between the ancient art form of construction and modern constructional practices at the Seminar Hall of the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board with the Temple Board as associate for the Workshop.
The workshop is targeted to the Civil Engineers Architects Masons constructional practitioners students of UG PG PhD and all sections of the society.
