Observation of 50th Anniversary of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2019

I am happy to inform you that the Institution of Engineers (India)- Manipur State Centre had observed the 50 Anniversary of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2019 on the theme "Bridging the Standardization Gap" at the Seminar Hall of the State Centre today, the 17th of May, 2019.
The function was attended by Er. Th. Joykumar Singh, FIE (Retd. Chief Engineer, PWD), Er. M. Lokendra Singh, FIE (Retd. Chief Engineer, PWD), Er. Th. Prameshwor Singh. Executive Director, NIELIT, Er. Kh, Temba Singh, FIE, Chief Engineer, PWD, Er. N. Shyamsundar Singh, FIE, Chairman, IEI Manipur State Centre and many Corporate Members, Technocrats, Engineers from various departments and other special invites from both industry and Academia.
Er. Th. Prameshwor Singh, the theme speaker, emphasized that Standards play a key role in the development of National and International infrastructures, economies and trade. Standardization has become a key component of innovation strategies in the Europe. United States and countries like China. India needs to get actively involved in creating standards rather than merely complying with standards set in US. Europe or even China. Manipur can initiate this process by bringing standardization in technical education and research. Other speakers also deliberated their views and opinions about standards to be adopted, to bring about a change in terms of development in the modern society.
