OBSERVATION OF “WORLD ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY”

As celebrated by different authorities and Institutes all over the world, The Institution of Engineers (India) Manipur State Centre has also observed the “World Energy Conservation Day” on 14th December 2018 at the Seminar Hall, IEI Manipur State Centre, Takyel, Imphal. A number of Past Chairman, Past Honorary Secretary, Senior Corporate Members, Corporate Members and participants from different disciplines attended the function which was presided over by Er. N. Shyamsundar Singh, FIE, the Chairman of the State Centre.
Er. A. Roudrajit Moirang, AMIE, Honorary Secretary welcomed the participants and briefly narrated about the observation.
Er. N. Shyamsundar Singh, FIE, the Chairman of the State Centre spoke at length covering different aspects of Energy and its importance in this knowledge era. Beginning with definition of Energy and its forms, the Chairman went on to highlight the need for Energy in the day-to-day life, the growth in this demand, the issues facing the generation of Energy, the fast depletion of finite reserve of fossil fuels & natural gas and other impacts on the environment that cause climate change.
Before Conclusion, the Chairman emphasised the urgent need for judicious use of energy and conserving it as a most precious commodity.
