51st Engineers Day 2018

Shri. Karam Shyam, Hon’ble Minister for CAF & PD, Revenue, Weights and Measures and Relief & Rehabilitation, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He mentioned the importance of Engineers in Nation building activities and stressed on the need of enhancing the quality of construction in the state. Being an Engineer turned Politician, he expressed his desire to extend co-operation to the fraternity of Engineers in the state and help in the process of land acquisition for the centre. Mr. Kh. Temba Singh, Chairman of the centre and currently functioning as the Chief Engineer of state PWD presided over the function.

Mr. Chirom Dharanikumar Singh, Past Hony. Secy. of the centre welcomed the dignitaries and participants. Dr. Kh. Johnson Singh, Asst. Prof. (CSE) of NIT Manipur presented the theme talk in the occasion. Mr. N. Shyamsundar Singh, Former Chairman, JERC (Manipur & Mizoram) delivered lecture on the theme embracing many important points. Mr. Th. Joykumar Singh, Retd. Chief Engineer, PWD Manipur, also delivered lecture on the theme and stressed on the immediate need of acquiring land for the state centre. He mentioned that sufficient plots of land have been acquired for the Medical Association and other similar bodies in the state while the matter still remained pending for the fraternity of the Engineers. Mr. Kh. Temba Singh, Chairman of the centre and Chief Engineer, PWD Manipur presented the presidential speech. In his presidential speech, Mr. Kh. Temba Singh, presented the life sketch and achievements of Bharat Ratna Sir. M. Visveswaraya, and appreciated the state Engineers for their active role in the development activities of the state. Mr. Th. Subhaschandra Singh of NIT Manipur proposed the vote of thanks.
